One of the things that I notice most because I do a nightly journal is that some days I feel so blessed so loved, so in tune with the Divine that my gratitude’s flow easily from my pen but then other nights – well not so much- I pause and I have to dig deeper. These are typical the days where I have been in my head more that I have been present, I have judged myself over and over without even realising it at times. In this moment of pausing with my pen one thing I’m sure of – my thinking has been separate from GOD that day. I have not seen things that she sees and I have an idea of me and this world that is very different from hers.
To me God means literally everything and I believe that we are all made from that divine spark. It’s the air that we breath and the wind in our sails. It’s the peace in our hearts but it’s the rage too, it the imperfect, it’s the mistakes, it’s the getting it wrong. God is with us through it all.
So much of what we live our lives by has be made up – manmade guidelines- manmade rules -manmade judgement’s and if any of these rules, guidelines and judgements cause another harm or deem another as inferior – these are prime examples of when our thinking is so off base from God.
There is a wonderful book that I have on display at The Barefoot Sanctuary by Neale Donald Walsh and its titled A message from God “You’ve got it all wrong”. I would highly recommend you checking it out if it resonates now. Do you really believe that when you look up into the stars at night that the rules the guidelines the judgements in religious doctrine might be a tad in-accurate? God does not need our love, our obedience, our sacrifice- no more than the sun needs us to say good morning to it so that it can come out and shine.
The God that I have experienced which I now feel guiding me daily is an energy that is loving and beautifully welcoming always and just like the sun it is there always, needing no thanks or praise. Nothing that I have ever learnt of before matched the God that I experienced in The Priory that night. In that moment I experienced directly that my conditioned thinking had been so separate from God’s.
Let’s see how that misunderstanding might play out in our daily lives:
We don’t tell our partner that we have made a mistake because we think they will leave us, and hate us – our thinking is separate from God.
We don’t say no to a request which drains us again and again because we think that would make us a selfish person, or that we have no choice – our thinking is separate from God.
We look in the mirror and judge who we see – our thinking is separate from God.
We don’t ask for help when we really need it because we think others will think that we are weak – our thinking is separate from God.
When we honour our feelings and we speak our truth – in that moment GOD is speaking.
When we say no to someone else because it doesn’t feel good – we are saying yes to GOD.
When we ask for help by willing to be vulnerable- in that moment we are GODLY.
When we look into the mirror and smile at who we see- in that moment we are looking into the eyes of the one and only GOD.
To your God -Glorious Onward Direction.
With love until Monday Love
