Mindfulness with Tea and Cake

During the week of the Fringe By The Sea as one the host venues we have many classes featuring in the programme at barefoot and we are adding this event to complement their programme.
Lizzie Martin one of the barefoot practitioners is combining her love of home baking and mindfulness to bring this special afternoon to The Barefoot Sanctuary during the fringe week- come and join her for some mindful tea and cake.
Mindfulness is a state of gentle open attention on what’s happening in your experience right now. When you’re mindful, you are aware of your thoughts and feelings without judging them good or bad or feeling the need to get rid of or change them. You wake up from the mindlessness of autopilot, which has had you switching off when you should have been paying attention and stops you dwelling on what might have been or worrying about what might be coming in the future.
Practicing mindfulness has changed my life, the lives of many of my clients and millions of people all round the world.
During the afternoon, we’ll drink tea and eat delicious home baked cakes and I’ll share with you:
What mindfulness is and how it can:
- Quieten a busy, overactive mind
- Reduce stress levels
- Improve sleep
- Increase health and well-being
You will be given simple mindfulness tools:
- Easy ways to make mindfulness part of your life
- Meditation/breathing exercise
- Mindful walking/movement
