Let go of expectation’s and just play

Usually I write these the day before but Sunday came and went and I well I wanted was to continue to play with my paintbrush and watch Once Upon a Time. When I just play with them- fun things happen. Here is a bit of fun that came out of playing. By just playing I produce things that I know I simply don’t produce when I’m full of expectation. So even though I had pulled this card yesterday it…

Our Shadow side needs to be loved too.

I think this is one of the messages that the Divine is constantly trying to get us to understand and fully embrace. If you listen to the stories threaded through many spiritual texts – it will say it again and again, and yet somehow we don’t think it's maybe true for us. It’s okay for other people that we love to have flaws – we can overlook and love them regardless of theirs but – crikey not our own.…

When you serve from a full cup everyone wins.

One of the myths about being on this earth that I think causes a lot of our suffering is the belief that we need to be "selfless". So often in my childhood I heard praise for those that were 'selfless til the end' People are admired for it - sainted for it and the thing is like anything in life without all the details of what was going on inside the energetic field of that person at the time -…

Hold your belief’s loosely in your hands.

If I close my eyes I can still see her stillness as she led the session – her name was Sharon – I don’t know her surname, and weirdly when I looked back to my journal I’ve no mention of her – it was more sporadic in reality it seems- but I think of her words frequently and consider her one of my early spiritual guides when I awoke to a new reality in July 2010. Most of the words…

Look in the mirror – smile at who you see.

In the fairy tale world - the enchanted mirror is the wicked Queens constant go to- she uses it to appease her deep and painful insecurities, and so in the modern world a mirror brings up vanity and shallowness and I can certainly relate to that. I can sympathise with the Queen's frequent need for reassurance. As a teenager I would pass a mirror in my school almost daily and just like the Queen I couldn't resist looking into it.…

You always get to choose what you hear.

I’ve come to understand that even within the same language different words mean different things to us all and because we all have different meanings to similar words in any conversation we are all listening through our own particular filter. On top of that depending on what narrative is also running through our head at any one time – what we hear from outside sources will depend on that narrative. Adding to the mix even more we are surrounded by…

Colour Your Life Your Own Way

As a people pleaser in recovery this has probably been one of the toughest things for me to embrace. As an empath you feel everyone’s else’s desires and that can often muddy the waters a bit. It takes a daily practice, and even then sometimes that isn’t enough to really tune into the actual colours an empath desires in life. Yet as I sit and look at this card today I am yet again struck by its simplicity- it’s clean…

Don’t stay in the past – you won’t find me there.

Over the last week or so I have come to call these flower cards The Divinity Cards. Essentially as I drew and doodled last year The Divine whispered these messages into my ear. It was always something that I needed to hear that day- and it helped steer me throughout my day.  My biggest desire is to live this life with that Divine guidance- these I feel make that possible. I am so delighted that they also seem to be…

Making mistakes is an essential part of being human.

I pulled this card from the deck last night - the idea being that I would let the thought percolate overnight and that my subconscious will find some good stuff for me. I mean mistakes -I've made a few- brief pause for an Abba Moment... Mistakes are part of the human experience an essential part but I didn't use to know that - so any time I got something wrong - my default was either to feel embarrassed ashamed or…

Connect with the teacher inside you.

Depending on our personal experiences of teachers this may at first bring up different emotions for you all. Most of us have been massively affected by teachers in our educational lifetime and for me that is no different. However generally we all have 1 or 2 that stood out – that provided a memorably positive learning experience. My Primary 1 teacher and my primary 5 teachers are those for me. These are I feel the teachers that got me –…
